So, for example, I know that some people who are watching this don’t want to get rich. Instead, they want to make a little extra money each month by doing simple tasks on their phone. For those people, my first side hustle idea, which is to be a hired mystery shopper, might be perfect. As a “mystery shopper,” your job is to check out a store to make sure it is running well. There are different mystery shopping gig apps in different countries. For example, in the United States, Field Agent pays between $3 and $20 per gig.
So, one job on Field Agent might be to go to a grocery store and take pictures of the shelves and food prices to make sure that certain vegetables are in stock. Your audit helps the grocery store figure out if they are ordering enough vegetables and if they have enough workers to keep the vegetable section stocked. It is available in a number of countries. And being a line stander is one of the jobs you can do for other people. Yes, it’s as easy as that. You just have to stand in line for clients. Line standers charge between $15 and $35 per hour, which can add up quickly. For example, one person who stood in line for a few days to get an iPhone 5 on launch day for a client made $1,500. But on the other hand, I know that many of you who are watching don’t want extra money; you want full-time money that will let you quit your job. If you already have a phone with a good camera, a microphone, and a computer, you can download free software like this and start making videos right away. But I also know that for some people who are watching this, this is the last thing they want. They don’t want to have to work for money. Instead, they want their new business or hustle to bring in money on its own. And this is a business that people who have been reading my blog for a long time will know, so do you see this T-shirt here? You can also set the price of your product. For example, if I set the price of my T-shirt to $17.95, you can see that the commission rate per sale is $3.69. You can also choose your favourite product colours, like your favourite T-shirt colours, to print your design on. After that, you come back to the product page for your T-shirt and fill out some details, like a title, some bullet points, and a product description, and then you save it.
Once your T-shirt has been reviewed and approved by Amazon, it will have its own product listing that customers can find when they are looking for gifts for friends or family. The cool thing is that if someone comes to you and says they want to buy a T-shirt, Amazon’s print shop will put your picture on a T-shirt, not you. Then, they’ll put it in a box and send it to the customer. They’ll get the money from the customer, take out their production costs, and give you a commission on the rest. As you can see, the business is very passive. And if you already have a design app like Canva that lets you make these kinds of T-shirt designs, you can start this business for free. So, most sellers on Etsy don’t have to market or advertise the items they list here. Instead, they can just take advantage of the people who already come here to buy things. Etsy is cool for us because you can sell digital pictures you make yourself. It doesn’t have to be something you can hold in your hands. One free business you can start on this site that many people have done well with is making and selling posters that people can download.
So, you’re here to see this popular poster that you can download? Well, you’re not getting a real poster when you buy this. You’re buying a picture that you can then print yourself on poster paper. Yes, text and quote posters like this are very popular, but if you’re watching and you’re a talented artist, this is great for you because art posters also sell very well. So, let’s look at this beautiful set of posters. We can guess how much money this has made. As you can see, there have been 2,624 reviews of the store. This poster image set has gotten 273 reviews, which is about 10% of the store’s total reviews. This probably means that it also makes up about 10% of the store’s sales. Well, as you can see, this store has made 68,727 sales, so 10% of that is 6,872 sales. So, if we multiply that number by the total sale price of $13 and 56 cents, we can guess that this beautiful set of downloadable poster images has made over $90,000 in sales, which is amazing. And this $90,000 would have been very, very passive because when a customer buys a digital item, Etsy automatically sends them a download link and then sends you the money the customer paid, less their processing fees.
So, your Etsy business runs itself without you having to do anything. There are a lot of stores that make and sell different kinds of digital products, like clip art stores, like this one, which focuses on selling one-time picture clip art downloads and has been very successful. Other stores like to make cards like affirmation cards that people can print out and use to feel good. And some shops like to sell things like lunchbox notes. Parents print these on cardboard, cut them out, and put them in their kids’ lunch boxes as a fun way to make their day at school more interesting. You could also start a business where people can download stickers. People print these right onto sticker sheets and then make their own stickers at home. Or, you could make downloadable quiz sheet packs that people can download and print out for parties.
You could also make downloadable game packs, like scavenger hunt card kits that parents can print out and hide around the house for their kids to play, or a downloadable greeting card picture. A lot of people on Reddit do this as a side job and make between $15 and $20 an hour. People like how flexible it is and how you can choose when to take on client work. And if you’re good at fixing things, Task Rabbit is a good place to go. Here, you can find people who need help with practical skills around the house. In most cities, it’s free to sign up and get work through this site. Task Rabbit takes its fees out of the money paid by the customer, so there are no costs up front. So, if you know how to fix things around the house, you could work as a handyman. You can also use apps like these to start a variety of businesses, like a painting business, a furniture assembly business, a sewing and clothing repair business, a gardening and lawn mowing business, or a cleaning business. And if you are good at more than one of these, you can combine them to make more money. From user experiences and reviews on Reddit, you can see that some people have quit their day jobs to run businesses they built on Task Rabbit full-time, which is awesome. When you do this, you earn points in the app that you can then trade in for PayPal cash or gift cards. It’s a simple way to make some extra cash while doing your regular shopping. You can even scan barcodes while shopping for groceries for clients. Because apps like Instacart make it possible to get paid to shop for groceries for other people. A lot of people on Reddit have quit their part-time jobs, and some have even quit their full-time jobs, to do this hustle. They love how flexible it is and how it can fit into their schedule. Or, if you have a guest room that you don’t use, you can rent it out on Airbnb to make some extra money. Or, if you have a pool, you can use the free app Swimply to rent it out. I also have free space around my house, which is something a lot of people have. A lot of people use it to make extra money every month without doing anything. Most countries have their own versions of this app, so for example, here in New Zealand, ours is called, Pawshake, and I’ve used this a lot. But yes, if you want to start an animal pet business, find your local version of this app and then create a free account and then choose which services you would like to offer. For example, on Rover, if you have experience grooming animals, you can become a professional pet groomer. Or if you have a yard, you can turn it into an in-home doggy daycare for social dogs. People drop off their dogs to you and let them play in your yard while they’re at work, rather than sit at home by themselves. I’ve used this for my dog, Starbuck, and he loves them. Although actually, some dogs are like cats and quite like being at home by themselves napping, which is why you could instead open up a drop-in business where you pop into clients’ homes throughout the day, to check in on their pets, fill up their water bowl, give them breakfast or dinner, and you can earn additional money by watching them overnight as a pet sitter. Or if you would rather that pets come to you, you can let cute doggo sleep on your bed while their owners go out of town and open up an in-home boarding service. And of course, you could also choose to offer multiple services, not just one, it’s up to you. On Reddit, lots of people have quit their jobs to now run their new pet businesses. Woo hoo.

But maybe you like digital businesses better. And if so, that’s fine. So, why not start a free business that sells things online? Yes, starting an E-commerce business was the opposite of starting a business for free. You had to buy a website and pay for marketing and advertising for it. But because technology has improved, these costs are no longer necessary, and you can now start an E-commerce business for free. Yup. And starting a Redbubble business is one way to do that. Now, my long-time subscribers will know what Redbubble is, but most of my new viewers won’t, so I’ll have to quickly explain it to them. I really appreciate your patience, so thank you very much. So, yes, Redbubble is a large online store. Tens of millions of customers visit it every month, and it sells hundreds of millions of dollars worth of goods on behalf of people like my viewers and pays them commissions.
So, you see all these stickers, all these phone cases, and all these T-shirts that Redbubble is selling? Well, none of the pictures that Redbubble is selling were made by them. Instead, anyone in the world with a PayPal account can sign up for Redbubble and then upload their own pictures or slogans to the site. Then, you give your picture or slogan a title, some relevant keywords, and a short description. You then choose which of Redbubble’s products your picture or slogan looks best on and choose to sell those products. Then you put it away. Redbubble will now make a digital version of the products you made and store it in their database. It will also automatically create product listings for those items on its website so that its 5 million or more customers can find them and buy them. Then, when someone comes to Redbubble and says, “I want to buy a T-shirt,” one of their print shops will put your design on a blank T-shirt, package it, and send it to the buyer. They’ll take out their production and shipping costs and then pay you a commission for the picture you uploaded. It’s a lot like opening a merch by Amazon store. Both are print-on-demand businesses that you don’t have to do much work for. Many of the people who watch my videos on Redbubble went on to open their own stores.

There are a lot of channels on YouTube that teach about this business. You can also do this on Poshmark, which is a free app. This is for people who like to buy clothes at thrift stores and sell them again. If you want some advice on how to start this business, there is an interview on YouTube with a seller who makes over $100,000 a year selling used clothes on Poshmark. That’s pretty cool. Yep. If you like to drive and would like to get paid for it, you can always be an Uber driver or an Uber Eats driver. And if you go to Reddit, you’ll see that some people make a good living as an Uber driver and an Uber Eats driver full-time. Most people think of these choices, but if you’re creative, you have a lot more to choose from. For example, if you have a van or waggon, you could start your own moving business and pick up clients using the free Dolly delivery app. Or, if your day job requires you to drive around a lot, you can get paid to wrap your car in ads and earn hundreds of dollars each month without doing anything. Or, if you don’t have a car but still want to get paid to drive, you can become a private driver who takes people where they need to go in their own cars. But yes, let’s move on to the next list.
Become The Next Internet NFT Millionaire
And since I’m not a finance YouTuber who has become a self-proclaimed NFT expert, I can’t make videos showing you how to become the next NFT internet millionaire. I wish I could, though, because I think I could make a lot of money with AdSense. But I can tell you that if you want to try to become the next NFT millionaire, you can sell the NFTs you make on OpenSea for free. Only their fees are taken out of the sale. There are no costs to sell them right away. But if you just want to make money from NFTs and don’t need to be the next internet millionaire, there are a lot of ways you can use this trend to start a business that does well. For example, you can start a freelance business as a marketer, programmer, or artist on Fiverr. Right now, there is a lot of work for freelancers on this site that has to do with NFT. People are buying NFT advertisement gigs, Discord server gigs that create NFT discord servers for people to advertise and sell their NFTs on, gigs made by artists who draw or paint NFTs for people to resell, and gigs made by artists who will make animated gift NFTs that their clients can resell. So, if you are an artist who wants to get started on Fiverr, this could be a great chance to do so.

You could also start one of the businesses below to make money online without doing much work. All of this is because of this site, Creative Market. Artists can sell digital products they make on this site. Putting them up for sale is free. Fees are taken out of the sale, so there are no costs up front. Some popular things you can make and sell on here are brushes for popular art apps like Procreate and Instagram templates that people can edit themselves in Canva. You can also make custom fonts and patterns that people with print-on-demand businesses buy from you to print on their products. If you don’t care if the money you make is passive or not, you can apply to be an artist for hire on their job board, Dribbly, where high-paying freelance art jobs are posted. But of course, drawing, painting, and making designs aren’t the only ways to be creative. Some creative people use writing as another way to say what they want to say.
Start A Writing Business
So, if that’s you, maybe the next free businesses and hustles on my list will be more interesting to you. First up is writing articles. Textbroker is a well-known website that is available in North America and Europe. You can sign up to be an article writer there. When you sign up, you take a writing test, and your pay per word is based on how well you did. So, if you get five stars, you get paid five cents per word. This means that if you write a thousand words, you get paid $50. I don’t know about you, but I write very quickly. I could do that in less than an hour, so you would be making $50 an hour, which is pretty cool. I also have friends who sell their novels on Kindle and make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
Since it’s free to sell anything on this site, why not give it a try if you’ve already written a book or a novel? And of course, I can’t forget to mention that you can start an essay writing business for free. Now, it’s easy to see why this is so controversial among writers. An article on it on HuffPost talked about how it’s an easy and profitable business for good writers to get into because there aren’t enough of them doing it. However, the article also talked about how some people buy essays for good reasons and others for not so good reasons. So, it’s up to you if you want to start your own essay writing business or not.

But if education is really important to you, you might be more interested in the next free businesses and hustles on my list. The first is to work as a tutor online. One easy way to do this is to use Cambly. Students come here and post that they need a tutor right away. If you want to tutor them, you can choose to do so, and you’ll be connected right away. So there’s no need to advertise or market because you choose clients when it’s convenient for you. You can also use School Solver to help you with your homework. It works the same way. Students post questions, and when you answer them, you get paid. And if you like teaching English, VIPKID is one of the best websites for tutors to teach English to Chinese students. It pays well and is reliable.
If you look at Reddit, you can see that you have a lot of choices. Some people teach English full-time, while others do it as a flexible part-time job. But if you’re still in school and working on your degree, you might prefer to take notes on contract for the classes you’re already taking. You could make $470 per class for which you take notes. This company sells these notes to other students. Or, you can choose to list the notes you take for sale on Nexus Notes and get a 50% cut of each sale. Is by selling photos and videos and making and editing them so I can make money. You’ve probably already noticed that this video has a lot of beautiful stock footage. Companies like mine and YouTubers like me buy these every day. So, if you are already a photographer and have some good photos, why not put them up for sale on sites like Shutterstock? It’s free to list them here, and every time someone downloads one, you get a cut. It’s a very low-effort way to make money. You can also list and sell stock videos if you are a videographer. And if you know how to fly drones, you can start a business selling drone stock videos, which can be very profitable because drone footage sells for the highest prices. But if you are more interested in editing photos and videos, you could start a freelance business on Fiverr. I hire people to do freelance work on Fiverr all the time.
I’m always looking for Photoshop editors, video editors, audio engineers, visual effects engineers, and people who can make Adobe Premier templates. You don’t have to pay anything to list your services for sale on Fiverr. The fees are taken out of the customer’s payment, so you don’t have to pay anything up front. The key is to make a good impression so that people will choose you. If you want to start one of these businesses for yourself, you should watch a really interesting video in which a top Fiverr seller gives tips and tricks for making your gigs more likely to sell. I also buy transcriptions for my videos all the time. Yes, because I have a funny accent from New Zealand and say some words in an odd way. I always buy transcriptions for the videos I make. And I go to the website Rev.com to buy them. They are always looking for new freelance video transcribers to join their team so they can transcribe videos like mine. Even though this isn’t a hustle that will make you a millionaire overnight, a lot of people like it. It’s free, they can do it whenever they want, and they can do it from anywhere in the world. It’s not for everyone, but it’s exactly what the right person wants and needs.
Start A Flexible Translation Business
And, if you know a second language, Rev is a great way to make money. Yes, those of you who watch my videos closely may have noticed that I’ve started translating them into more than one language. And I do that with the help of Rev. If you’re interested, they pay much more for people who can transcribe from one language to another. You can also start a translation business on Fiverr for free by offering a translation service. These services are very popular on the site. You can also sign up for Text Master and translate software in apps. If you sign up for Gengo, you can translate website content into other languages. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the people on this channel who have trouble hearing. ASL is another language. In fact, it is one of the three official languages of New Zealand. And if you know it, you can turn it into a full-time job by signing up with booking agencies like Linguabee to be an interpreter for hire. But, as I said at the beginning of this video, I know that not everyone wants to quit their job and start a business full-time. They just want to make a little extra money on the side.
Earn $10,000/Year By Sharing Your Opinions
So, if this sounds like you, you should probably check out the next hustles on my list. So, the first step is to fill out surveys for businesses that are looking into the market. Websites like Prolific match you with surveys based on your demographics, and you get paid cash for filling them out. On sites like Respondent, you can also get paid to take part in surveys for academic research. I looked at it on the website Reddit. And some people made hundreds of dollars extra by filling out Respondent surveys. Because surveys are sent to you based on who you are, some months you’ll get more than others. Most people said to just check back every day to see if the survey you’re eligible for pops up. You can also sign up to be an E-juror if you live in the United States. As an E-juror, you will read about a case and see the evidence for and against the defendant.
After that, you’ll be asked to fill out a survey, where you’ll answer questions like whether you think the defendant is guilty and what evidence made you think that way or not. Now, lawyers hire E-jurors to read pieces like these so they can see if they have a good chance of winning their court case before it goes to trial. But if you don’t live in the USA, that’s totally fine. There are still plenty of ways to get paid to give your opinion with apps that are available to people all over the world, like getting cash gift cards for answering quick survey questions on Google Opinion and also for this website, Neevo. So, you know how Facebook can recognise your face, for example? Well, companies like that use Neevo to hire contractors like you and me to look at the results and give our opinion on how well the AI did. Some people on Reddit, like this one here, used Neevo to make a lot of extra money.
